Our Purpose for Kindness
As a group, we work to promote and encourage others to practice kindness regularly in their lives. We fight to end, or at least reduce, the amount of bullying in our school and in society in general. We passionately believe that kindness is the antidote to bullying and we can better the world we live in if we all showed a little more kindness. In addition to kindness simply being the right thing to do, there are also multiple benefits that come from receiving, as well as performing, kind acts. It has been scientifically proven that being kind to others can lead to better health, more happiness, and overall more success in life. To learn more about kindness and it's benefits, check out the Kindness Project PowerPoint and our video under "Our Work"!
Our Purpose for Mental Illness
Besides promoting kindness, we also advocate for those that struggle with mental illness. Mental illness is something that is not readily noticed by others, so we want to shine light on mental illnesses and teach the public about how to handle it and properly talk about mental illness. We want to remove the sense of taboo that is placed on mental illnesses so that those who suffer from them can seek help without feeling shameful or alone. Not only do we teach and inform the public about these illnesses, but we also actively participate in a club that seeks to help those who struggle with it on a daily basis.
